Dr Susan Koch retired in 2015. From 1987 until 2015, Dr Koch worked in research and consultancies. Her research focused mainly on clinical practice improvement in aged care. This included increasing the extent to which health professionals – particularly nurses – base their practice on the best available evidence. Susan has published and presented at conferences extensively. She is a member of the executive committee of the Cognitive Decline Partnership Centre at the University of Sydney. Susan is currently involved in a project to develop an Australian Community of Practice in Research in Dementia (ACcORD) to improve health outcomes for people with dementia and their carers. Since 2014 Susan has been co-chair of the Australian Government Annual Ministerial Dementia Forum.
